The Anwar Debate

Just watched the Anwar debate and suddenly overwhelmed with such 'high-ness' I simply had to write now. If I don't , by tomorrow I'll be too lazy.

Firstly, I never liked Anwar. Nothing really personal. It's just that I don't exactly have a thing for men with goatee. Never trust them. Not scientifically proven, it's just a personal preference. Only villains keep goatees. Coupled with the fact nowadays I only see a sad looking old man whenever his pictures appeared, I can't say it's any incentive for me to start liking the man now.

Was I expecting a great earth shattering performance from the 2 debaters? Nay. I just don't want to poise myself for great disappointment with high expectations. I even had my dear Astro remote in hand ready to change channel. Afterall, my usual 9pm is religiously dedicated to Channel 301. (100% Entertainment)

OK, the opening looked promising. But then, something happened when Shabery Cheek threw in a little attack on Anwar's 1974 past. Anwar smiled sheepishly. Almost boyishly.

I never thought I'll see the day I would actually say this. In fact, that is why I'm writing this down right here and now. So, I can one day come back and see for myself I actually said it.... That very moment, under attack from Shabery, that very moment Anwar flashed his silly sheepish smile, it suddenly dawned on me Anwar is actually attractive.

Just to make sure I actually said it... I repeat... Anwar is actually attractive. (what I'm talking about? The sheepish smile on the left picture. )

This is not a political blog. I don't do analysis. Not the real kind anyway, but to me, what makes a man is to see how he defended himself when under attack. The under the belt kind of attack especially. Anwar definitely won brownie points how he handled himself amidst all the childish personal attacks hurled at him on national TV. I'm impressed.

I don't know if you can say there is a definite winner from the debate. I just caught Bernama news and Shabery was telling the media it's a victory for BN. For the life of me, I don't know how Shabery arrived at the conclusion, but then the man is entitled to his illusions. Or should I say delusions?

At the end of the day, the oil price is not coming down. Nothing is solved. If there is anything to be gained from the debate, it has to be my whole new assessment on Anwar Ibrahim. Yes, and how I view men with goatees in general from now on.

To prove my new found fondness for men with goatees... I will no longer NOT post pics of men with goatees on my blog.

May be it is time people learn about Hollywoood and Mind Control Programming. What do you expect from a seasoned political actor? Exactly, he is very good at that, and if you are attracted to that - YOU HAVE BEEN BOUGHT BY THIS ACTOR, well done! I went to the same school as Anwar although I use this girlie nick.. ha ha A L

Gosh - how observant! His sheepish smile plus that shrug of his shoulders - man, I agree that he hit the right body language to endear himself with the womenfolk, me included! ;-D

I'm no hardcore fan of his either, but from the way things are going so wrong in this country, I don't mind giving him a chance to prove himself worthy of the crown and our gamble.

P/s: Glad to see that you are back!

So what if Anwar becomes PM of Malaysia? So what if he reinstates the fuel subsidy? If he does so, he will definitely cause the gahmen's budget to run into deficit.

No matter how many boyish sheepish grin he gives to his critics, he won't be able to reinstate the fuel subsidy without causing the gahmen budget to run into deficit.

Special greetings to Maverick, Anak Merdeka and GG.:-)

Zara Mama - I'm fine. Wishing you and your family all the best lar... lol I dun surf as much nowadays becos alot of the stuff around the blogs are just redundant.. ;-(

Mockingbird - Well, if the garmen dun know how to do something constructive with their reserves, I think Anwar has a point. Let's just help out the rakyat with subsidies. :-) I'm no economist, so I might not make sense... but I always think running a country is different from running a company. With a company, the success of the company is solely about profit. On the other hand, running a country is different in the sense it's not so much about profit or how much reserves the garmen has in their piggy bank. It's more about their willingness in giving back and helping out the ppl in their time of need. :-)
