Double Happiness & BUM 2008

This was taken from my hubby's room. The room is so small, this is my constant view.... viewed from the bed.

Double Happiness (sounds like your CNY dish hor?) for me this time I went down to KL. I specially went down for the BUM08 meet and in the mean time, found time to shop in KLCC. As I've written before, I do have my reservations going to BUM 2008. Firstly, I'm not a SoPo blogger. I'm worried I'm not on the same frequency so to speak as those peeps. I'm sure many would know how sucky it is to be at a party you don't know anyone and in the meantime trying to look as if you're having a swell time....

In the end, I went with my hubby. My hubby is my float. In the worst case scenario, at least I can still hang on to my float and not just drown in the sea of obscurity. Thankfully, I'm glad to say this one has a happy ending.

Finally, I get to attach a face to those bloggers whose SoPo blogs I go often. Like? Rocky, RPK, Patrick Teoh, Mob, Tony Yew, Howsy and Maverick. Yes, especially Maverick. I finally get to confirm... not only that Maverick writes well, he is such a charmer. Definitely those ladies' man. :-P

BUM 2008

The room where BUM08 was held is very nice. Decorated like some Datuk's wedding .....

Photo wise, sorry lar. I'm busy helping out at the registration counter, I really did not have time to go around snapping everyone in sight. These are the few pathetic photos I managed to take before the event started. Attendance was whopping. Walk-ins are plentiful.

Nobody's there yet.My partner at the registration counter, blogger Primrose.

Mei, who is in charged of the media people covering the event.

On a personal note, the plus side on being at the registration counter meant everyone, EVERYONE goes through me. Kee Thuan Chye came to my registration counter and I was just too dumb strucked to say HI. You see, back in my teenage days, Kee's paper column is the only thing I read from the paper. His writings are the most inspiring thing EVER. Today, I see him face to face and I sit there like a batu. Don't know what to say to him... Damn. I'm suddenly like bisu. Ceh...

Well, what is life without regrets hor?

One less regret to contend with. I get to have my picture taken with Niamah, (with a capital N) Patrick Teoh himself.

Now, BUM08 is serious business conducted among friendly folks. I'm just in awed how humble and down-to earth some of those so-called 'academics' were. Really, I thought academics would be LCLY. Surprisingly, they are just humble and super nice peeps. It's the empty vessels that makes the most noise and action only.

Si-lai being si-lai in all circumstances, I still managed to sniff out the few leang jais I spotted. OK, just to be politically correct, let me first say, everyone is leang. It's just that a few is super leang and therefore worthy of special mention.

This picture does Dr Azmi Sharom no justice. Trust me, he's such a looker in person.

OMG! I know Farish Noor can write. What I don't know is how cute he looks in person. I die liao..

In the end, I'm just super happy to be there. Though I'm just a kay-ler-fer (extras) but then tell me which movie don't need them? So, Kay-ler-fer here today felt like a million bucks.

KLCC

Next happy thing - SHOPPING. Finally, I get to buy something from KLCC. Hey, and I don't mean just the burger from Burger King. Ahem, Isetan is having a 3 day sale and I got some fabulous shoes with 70% off. Wow, super happy.

I can go to sleep wearing these. Super happy. I don't care I get blisters from them.

I got no where to go with these shoes, so, I'm wearing them just for kicks, hanging my laundry in the lawn. 8 o'clock in the morning I'm in my pyjamas and stiletto heels doing laundry. Cannot meh? Sue me.

Another pic to show-off a bit. Nice angle mar..

CK - It's not exactly a celebrity chasing thing.. it's just me. lol You see, I was at the registration table all the time and I don't really get to listen to anybody's speech in full. In fact, I missed out most of the speakers. So, the next best thing for me to do is to ogle at people lor... lol
